| ...and you were thinking long stemmed roses. |
Valentine’s Day is right round the corner and if you’re stuck for a present, how’s this for an outside-the-gift-box thought?
Two tickets to the greatest outdoor motoring festival ever launched in the Southern Hemisphere – the Top Gear Festival Sydney.
Staged by the Top Gear Festival crew, it will feature the V8 Supercar stars Whincup and Lowdnes and a raft of international celebrities.

| Clarkson and May. |
Mark Webber and the Red Bull Formula One team will race against the reigning V8 Supercars champion Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowdnes in The Ultimate Race: F1 vs V8.
If that doesn’t get your motor running, the organisers promise to deliver a Postie Bike Challenge with Clarkson vs May.
But wait, there’s more. The ‘Man in White will go for some power lap times in one of the rarest supercars the country has seen. Could it be a Koenigsegg Agera R? Here’s hoping.
Alongside the opening round of the 2013 Touring Car Masters Series featuring John Bowe and Jim Richards, a world renowned athlete (Usain Bolt?) will take on Clarkson in a 100m race and hopefully, you’ll see a man attempt to jump over a speeding Lambo.
Three celebrity teams will battle it out in the inaugural Tri-Nation’s Cup; a series of mind-melting motoring challenges that risk life and limb. Craig Lowdnes will captain Australia, Fabian Coulthard will lead the Kiwis and The Stig will head up the rest of the world.
They’ll also be running the Reasonably Priced Car challenge daily with some of Australia’s highest profile sports stars, celebs, TV presenters and radio jocks in the driver’s seat.
Former F1 World Champion Alan Jones will pitch his 1980 Williams F1 car against Bathurst legend Colin Bond in Alan Moffatt’s 1977 Ford Falcon.
V8 superstar Jamie Whincup will take on an aerobatic pilot, Matt Hall, to see who’s faster round the track in the Car vs Plane Race.
Fans of extreme stunts will be blown away by the high flying Matt Mingay, Jack Field and the Flair Action Riders.
And 16 of the country’s finest drifters led by Beau Yates, Luke Fink and Rob Whyte will take to the South Circuit in the Just Cars Drifting sessions.
Will you be there?
